It was like a cough or hic up a little stumble and P2146 with CEL displayed .

I see this has something to do with the injectors. The engine runs rough at idle but smooths out at higher rpm, also there is a tapping or knocking sound at idle. No loss of power mileage remains the same. My first step will be to remove the edge juice and see what happens. Any opinions or suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you

the 2146 is an injector bank code. 9 out of 10 times it is cause from a plug in style box like the edge juice or the tst. Occasionally it can come from a shorted out solenoid on an injector

For what it's worth my 2004. 5 has been known to set this code on occasion, actually sets both the 2146 and 2149 codes together. Once it went into a limp mode but after stopping and restarting it seemed to drive fine. It will usually set the codes when it's colder outside and the engine is warm but not fully up to temperature yet.

Sometimes I clear the codes and other times I let them clear themselves after a number of trips. I haven't really experienced any rough running.

I went so far as to pull all the injector harnesses off and carefully reseated them with a little dielectric grease added for protection. I can't say it's made that much of a difference. I have rarely had these codes appear when it's warm and the truck is at full operating temps.

Others have posted with similar experiences with the Edge / Juice + hot combo but I can't really say that anything has been determined. It's probably a trait that appears with the Edge's operating parameters that occasionally triggers the CEL & codes.

As far as the rough running goes, my truck seemed to idle kinda funny not long after I purchased it, probably had about 10,000 miles or so. One day I picked up some Power Service additive, (the gray bottle), and added it just for the heck of it thinking Ok I'm not really one of the "stuff in the bottle cure-all types". That being said, the next time out I can state without a doubt that my idle smoothness improved and have used it ever since. I figured the added lubrication is what must have helped. Just my 2 cents.

Still pondering this one. I have read some posts on bad FCA on the injection pump. Some suggest putting a quart of 2 cycle oil in the fuel and if the rough idle goes away the FCA is bad. Exactley what does the 2 cycle oil do cause the rough idle to go away? There is also more rattle than what there used to be. Could this be a bad FCA,? The truck has 58,000 miles.

Thanks for the help.
