Change my Fuel filter today. Pretty un eventful as usual.

Went out to check for leaks etc aprox 2 hours after and bumped the starter to get the lift pump running to press the system. ABout 1 minute after it ran and stopped, and I was getting ready to slam the hood, I heard the unmistakable sound of either dripping fluid or air through fluid sound. Cant find any leaks and truck runs fine, (other than a slightly weak lift pump). Any ideas? COuld it be fuel returning to the tank return line becase the truck wasnt started? (God I hope so). Anyone else have this? The lid is tight and o-ring lubed and replace per usuall. No diesel smell either, except on my hands. No wet spots on or around any banjos either.

ALso my lift pump normally would run my FP gauage to about 2 psi when i initially turned the key to run ( heaters) then back to 0 before i would start. I can heard the pump hum for the same time, but no increase of psi, it stays at 0 until started.

My filter looked pretty cruddy could this have been because of restriction in the last fitler and freer flow for this one? Im kinda grasping at straws on tihs one.

ANy help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

My guess would be a small amount of air trapped inside the filter/lines after the change, and then being circulated on thru the system and back into the fuel return line to the tank... .

Probably nothing to worry about, and will probably be completely gone by the next time you operate the truck... ;) :D
