I posted this problem back at the end of december, I have a 95 and a few months back it started losing O/D and T/C lockup the tach would stop working, the amp gauge drops just below 14 and the check engine, wait to start, water in fuel and the trans temp lights would flash.

Now it's doing it every day and I have to pull over shut the key off and restart the engine, That works most of the time but I never know for how long, I have an 08 ordered that should be here mid Feb. so I'm going to need to sell this one but there no way I would sell to anyone knowing they will have this trouble. If anyone could please help me resolve this issue it would be a big help

It would be called a PCM on a 12 valve truck. It definately sounds like that could be the issue but first I would check all grounds and make sure they are clean and tight.

PS fill out your signature so we know more about your truck and can help you better.

Also... Welcome to the TDR!

Mine did that and it was the PCM. Take it and put it on a code reader when everything is working and it will tell you. They are around $400. Do a search in the archives and to find some posts on wires that need to be sortered or hooked up. This may be a cheaper fix if you have the time.

It might also be the Crank Position Senser. On my 97 5spd manual I had no alt charging, no MIL light, no wait to start light, no tach, no speedo and replaced the PCM only to find the CPS was bad. It cost about $75. It is a magnetic type senser mounted . 050 inch above the damper. It has about a 2 foot pigtail with a connector on top center of engine in front.

It snakes its way down the front of engine to right (facing engine) of water pump and has 2 bolts holding it above the damper. Its a bear to get to but I did it without removing the fan. Maybe you could unplug and clean it. Also check that the gap is . 050 inch.

Good luck,

Dave
