Just bought a new Matco toolbox and was wanting to know if anyone has used the foam liners. You know the ones you have to cut to fit the tools. I love the new box but need to keep the sockets and wrenches and other stuff from rolling around every where. I looked at the ones that Sears sell but they're not big enough it would take 3 just to do one drawer and the hole set from Matco is $50. So before I spend the $$$ I would like to know what you guys think.

Thanks

Harbor Frieght has some plastic drawer bottoms inserts that are cut out for sockets of all sizes, dont know price.

Hot glue socket rails to the bottom of the drawer, or get the magnetic socket rails from Sears. I prefer to have the rails glued down as you can tell at a glance if all the sockets are home. For combination wrenches and tools with a closed end you can hot glue roofing nails (with the points gone) or make a bar with pins on it that will hold the closed end of the wrench in place. The foam is OK for stuff that does not get used very often, but common items are a PITA to get in and out of the foam. Having a home for each and every tool that is obvious when it is empty is necessary if you don't want to lose a tool occaisionally. BTW, the hot glue can be pulled off of the drawer bottoms cleanly if you want to change the arrangements. Hope this helps.
