Truck is a 99 auto.

When I first take off in the morning the trans hesitates slightly as it shifts from 1st to 2nd. Once warmed up, all is fine. Could a band adjustment take care of this?

Second, under hard acceleration, I see water/antifreeze? on my floorboards. I do have to add water to my radiator from time to time. Heat and AC work fine, could this be a sign of heater core problems?

Thanks

Dave

Sounds like

Cant help ya on the transmission issue... BUT as far as the heater core.

Sounds like the heater core is on its way out. Its not an easy install, but even with my limited mechanical ability I changed mine out in about 4 hours. The napa part number for the heater core is NHC 6601767. It has swiveling fittings/tubes and makes installation MUCH easier without disconnecting the a/c. Something else I found is to go to the dodge dealership and order TWO of part number 55036506-AB. Its the replacement heater core tubes WITH the bend in the end of them. I also added two quarter turn brass valves so I can turn off the heater core in the summer time. It gets about 8-10 degrees cooler with the hot water not flowing through the core in the HVAC box.

You can do a search on here, I believe issue 46 & 59 had instructions on the removal & install. You CAN do it without doing the A/C.
