Couple of Questions ?????

Newbie to Dodge & Cummins. I have an 03 HO and was wandering does it come with a kity cat, mine does not have one and what size is the stock exhaust. I think the tail pipe measures 4'. It looks stock with the huge muffler. Also on another subject, is there anyone using 265/70/17 on a new body stlye dually. I pull 80 % was wandering about spacing on the back tires. 2005 specs on the build it site # dodge shows them as an optional?

There was no cat in 2003. Exhaust is 3. 5" from the turbo to the muffler, then 4" from the muffler to the tailpipe.



Can't comment on the tires. Welcome aboard!

Well, an engine is basically an air pump so anything you can do to make it breathe easier will pay of in more power and fuel economy. I assume, then, that going to a full 4" exhaust system will give you a little more power and economy.



I can't speak from experience... my system is stock.

3. 5 is fine if not pulling over 4000lbs on stock Hp ,4" is not necessary until 400 plus HP . Striaght thru Muffler will drop EGT"s 80/100 when Pulling over 4000lbs,Thats about the Drop you get on Pulling any wieghts above 4000lbs.

What about the exhaust elbows coming off the turbo... are the '03's the same size as an '04. 5-'05. If the newer trucks have a larger exhaust elbow will they fit my '03?

Turbo outlet same size, its reduced through the elbow to 3. 5 on 03,04 and up have 4"

You know if any of these 4" elbows are readily available? How much do they run $$$ wise?

I believe these part numbers were posted in another thread by Tomeygun? You need all three to make the conversion from a 2003-04 to a 2004. 5.



4”Elbow and down pipe with clamp available from Mopar. The elbow part number is 5161570AA. $48. 85 list.
