I have a few questions that I want to run by you guys. You can read my sig and tell what truck I have. My first problem is that I am having some shifting problems with my transmission. I just installed a Suncoast Valve body and PTC converter last week. Everything does fine but it seems like when the truck gets hot that it doesnt want to shift back into first when I come to a stop. I have tried to slowly roll to a stop to try to get it to downshift but it still wont downshift past second gear. Other than that it shifts fine and when cold it will downshift to first perfectly. Any ideas? Also I have a trans leak coming from between the trans and transfer case. Both have seals where they meet together if I am correct. How often have you seen these go out? I leaks very badly even when sitting still. I have another trans leak coming from somewhere in the front of the trans. It looks like it could be coming from the inspection plate of the bellhousing but when I removed the TC and was going to put a new front pump seal in, the inside of the bellhousing was bone dry. I cant tell of any lines that are leaking so I wonder if it is possible that I could have a power steering leak that could blow back that much fluid because I steamed the underside of the truck off today and the only part that leaked was the transfer case that I talked about earlier and the rest was bone dry. But if I drive it down the road for about 30 miles and stop then it will be leaking from the inspection plate but will be coated with so much fluid that I cant tell where it is coming from. Has anyone else ran into this kind of problem? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I had a similar problem 2 months ago. Trans absolutely wouldn't downshift into 1st unless I manually shifted it. I replaced the trans pressure sensor and solenoid and everything worked fine after that. Mind you my trans is completely stock ... Bill

I would look at the pressure transducer or the valve body if installed correctly.

Has the leak and the hot no shift been present from the date of install?

Did the installer make sure that the pressures are high enough to control the transmission w/new VB?

Well it isn't the tps if you put it in 1st and it still doesn't go. Did you call suncoast? They should help you out. If they won't call Bill @DTT, he'll give you advice even though it's somebody else's product.

Corey

The leak between the transfer case and the transmission only happened since the install. I think that the downshifting problem was still there before the valvebody install but I didnt really notice it since I never had my chip cut on until the install. I am getting the finger and a few choice words said to me by the people that are behind me at red lights due to the smoke of taking off in second. :-{}
