1) glad i got a one-ton, it rides better than my 2002 2500

2) words can not describe the difference in steering feel, steering ratio, ride feel, all 100 times better than the 2002

3) i only got the SO diesel, but I am still happy, but the computer takes a very long time to put fuel in, waiting for the boost i guess

4)i wish I would have known that you can fit the 35 inch tire on the stock truck w/o lift, I WOULD HAVE GOT THE 4. 10s!!!

5) wish i would have got the HEAVY DUTY SNOW PLOW PREP GROUP, only 100 bucks or so, ( bigger alternator is main option)

6) love the 4-doors, now the girl friend doesn't complain about sitting in the back

7) THE WAIT FOR THE COMP IS KILLING ME!!

Thanks for you time!

PS - 17. 5 MPG on the overhead

75%-city --- 25% highway

only 175 miles on truck

I hope to be on my way to 19 or so after breakin

Tom

You got a new truck - and make your girlfriend sit in back?

You must be from the south - and keep the dogs up front, right? :D :D :D

I'll refrain from any further speculation on the "back seat" bit... I remember when I was younger...

you caught that huh?

For example, Myself and "father-in-law to be" sit in front and and GF and mother-in-law to be sit in back

BUT, I DO NOT EVER make my Lady sit in the middle of the FRONT SEAT, next to me, THATS from the south ! :D :D

We don't make our women sit next to us, that's where they want to be. Not as far to swing a rolling pin ya see.

You made the right choice to get the 373's if you go to 35's you are still around 3. 50's and unless you are going to tow max gcvwr

you should be fine. especially with a comp:D

Nice truck

Good luck

DD

soon to be an 03 guy(not soon enough) althought some people think i am crazy to give up my current ride

MY thoughts exactly, now if only EDGE would hurry the heck up and make me a comp for the 03!!!

also tomeygun,

a couple of weeks ago the so-cal rattlers had a wrench day and Greg Boardman loaned out his 03-EZ (70 hp) to 4Xquadrod to try on his 03 SO. His impressions were highly favorable. He left early so he could get home to order one:D It's also good for apx 2mpg gain. Here is my suggestion; buy an ez now (while they are still developing the major fueling boxes) for apx $ 500. This gets you some good smiles for now and it allows you some time for the bugs to be worked out of the comp's by all the mfg of future major fueling boxes. I am sure someone will do a test of them. Besides it may be that major boxes might be challenged by raising the fuel pressures. ( have heard that this could be a problem) Keep in mind that if it were easy they would be done by now. (haven't the 03's been out for apx 6 months) in the end if and when they perfect the major box you should be able to sell the EZ used for at least 350-400( i may have my 03 by then and maybe you could cut me a good deal since i gave you this great idea :D )

Have fun

DD

Tomeygun, do not worry about not having the plow prep because you don't get a bigger alternator. The Dodge website says you get the 160 amp alternator however that is a lie, you only get the 136 amp alt. It seems that the plow prep for a Cummins only consists of a transfer case skidplate (which can also be had in the protection group) and different front springs. If you go over to DTR their is a thread concerning the lack of a 160 amp alt.

When you say the computer takes awhile to put fuel in, do you mean when you stomp on it. I noticed today when I hammered my High Output from a standstill there seems to be a 1-1 1/2 second lag before it really gets moving. I never really noticed the delay as much on my previous Standard Output '03. Originally I thought the delay had to do with the HO/3. 73 combo vs. the SO/4. 10 setup but now I wonder.

Guy's, are we just experiencing turbo lag or is it something different.

Good luck with your new truck.

She can sit next to you as long as she's not also your sister, right?

Tom, I hate to tell you this but the overhead lies. Mine indicates 2 MPG better than when checked with a calculator. I think this is a very sad testimony for Dodge. In modern electronics this is a very big lie and would have to be purposefully programmed to have an indication this far off.

Tomeygun,

Did you get the dually or the SRW version?

Good luck with the new truck.

It is a SRW, short bed, ( because its a 3500, There are no lift laws in missouri to confine my bumper height):D :D

Knowing how this truck rides, I see no reason to even look at 2500

FRED: out there right now? I want an "in cab" adjustable box?

Still right now?

Lastly, If dodge would have put the old 24v in the new body, I would have paid much, much more for this truck.

The silence of the engine is killing me, More when a old cummins pulls next to me and wants to race, Revs his engine and all that...

So who is in ST. Louis, that has a striaght piped 03??

Thanks!

P. S. - if think the computer holds fuel back before the turbo gets here, SO-pow! NO smoke what so ever, not even between shifts

(just like the engineers wanted it)
