Newer member and first time poster. I've generally been a lurker, but very appreciative of the wealth of info in this membership.
Well I seem to have a problem with my torque converter and or transmission. The primary symptom is the converter staying locked up in 4WD low range. It'll chug, shudder, and shake down to 600 RPM or so. If I touch the gas or brake it unlocks. This showed up coasting to a stop on a recent elk hunting trip and did it multiple times.
It has never even given a hint of doing this in 2WD. Always unlocks right at 900 RPM.
I did a quick search and could only come up with a possible solenoid problem. The truck is under warranty but I wanted to get an idea what I might be facing before going to the dealer.
