I have an 06 with 25k miles. It has been flawless since new. Last Week It started as usuall ( only 50deg. outside) but stalled after running 3-5 seconds. It did this 3 times till I held it at 1500rpms on the 4th time for about 30 seconds. Then it ran fine except for the (cel) light for the next 2 days then the light went out for the past 5 days. I dont no if this is relevant or not but today I noticed a small puddle under my truck (10-12 in. ) and I crawl under and see it is leaking fuel at the bottom of the cp3 or were it meets the case. I am mainly concerned with the fuel leak. Any clues?

Take it back to the dealer. The CP3 will not fix itself. Mine started leaking at 13K and got progressively worse. The dealer replaced it under warrenty all be it a rebuilt pump, but no problems since. There are alot of instances on the forums of these pumps leaking and the cure is replacement.

I had 3 cp3's replaced under warranty on my 05'. All started slow leak and got worse fast. Got rid of the truck when the 3rd pump started leaking out of warranty.

Took it to dealer today. I told the service writer I had a fuel leak that equaled a puddle after sitting for a cupple of hours. Mechanic popped hood and said he torgued a couple of things but found no leak. I took the tec. out to my truck, popped the hood and put my hand under CP and came out with fingers wet. He said OK and orderd a cp3. Some times I get frustrated when I try my best to describe it and pretty much diagnose it and they tell me nothing found. Unless the service writer did not tell the tec. what exactly I said?

That's EXACTLY what I went through with me dealer this time last year when mine started leaking. THey INSISTED there was no leak, even though there was a spot under the truck. I actually had to physically get under the truck with the mechanic, and guide his finger to the wet wiring harness.

THEN he called STAR, and ordered a new pump.
