My CP3 pump is leaking - at least I think it's what's leaking. I know this seems to be fairly common. Is it covered under the Cummins warranty or Dodge's? I have an '06 with 67,000 miles.

Dodge warranty which is 5 years/100,000 miles on the engine. Cummins does not warranty anything in a Dodge pick-up. Cummins sells them to Dodge with no warranty, out the door. :)

That will be covered and may only be an FCA valve, however the whole pump will be replaced thru Mopar. Been there, have the T-Shirt.

Finally got the truck in and it was apparently the fuel control actuator (FCA) leaking. They replaced it, the new part was defective (truck wouldn't run), and replaced it again and now I've got her back. At least they realized the new part was bad before I got it! We'll see if the the leak is gone.

Mine was leaking at around 80,000. Took it to the dealer and they replaced the whole pump under warranty. This was less than a year after they replaced all my injectors at about 70,000. I can't believe there hasn't been a recall like GM had for their injector problems on the early Duramax. Everyone I know from my area that has a 3rd gen Cummins has had their injectors and/or CP3 replaced.

I had my CP3 pump replaced under warranty (53,000 miles) and had to wait 6 weeks to get the new par tin to the dealership. At least it was replaced under warranty even though I had to wait for the part to arrive at the dealership.
