Archived Cracked 47re tailhousing

The lower flange area of my tailhousing has a hairline crack, spitting fluid. This is the second time this has happened. First was under warranty. Is it possible to replace without pulling the whole trans? Any ideas why this is happening? Anyone have a good place to get a tailhousing?



Doubt it makes a difference but the first time was a stock 47re at 70k, this time is a Stage 4 ATS at 170k.

I know a place loacal to me that I can get the tailhousings. I do not know how much they would sell them for though.

I'm checking around locally also. Apparently, they need the cracked one to match it up. Kind of scares me. Makes me think they really don't know what they are giving me.

from my little bit of experience an A-618 is that there is no difference in the tail housings except for 2X4, and 4X4 of course.

I have one for a 4x4 and yes you can replace it with out pulling whole trans
