Craftsman Tool Catalog.

Just got the new Craftsman Power and Handtool catalog in the mail today. I have no idea how I managed to work on all my trucks and cars with the paltry:{ tools I have. Well I better not tell my wife:-{} about my "BOMBING" of my tool boxes or I'll be sleeping in the shop. :-laf :-laf :-laf

I just scored a top box and roll away Craftsman for $150 at a yard sale. Everthing works like new and it even had the black drawer liner in it. .

I was looking at that catalog tonight eating dinner. I looked at that gold-plated wrench set pretty close - fitted walnut box, pimpy gold-plate, $59. 00



Immediately thought, "Who the heck would want gold-plated Craftsman wrenches they would be afraid to use?"



Then my brain turned on me, and started thinking, "Gee, those actually look pretty good. I could see one of those propped up on my desk, or clipped to my suit lapel... . "

Speaking of Craftsman, what do you think about that little compressor they have in the catalog which uses a Honda 5hp engine? Worthwhile, or junk awaiting slow disassembly?

I have a pen from my Snap-On dealer. It was laying on the desk at home last night and my 12 yr old daughter used it to write something for school. I cautioned her not to take my pen. My buddy happened to be there and he piped in "Yeah, that pen is probably worth $400. " We all got a good chuckle from that one. I got one raised eyebrow from the Mrs.

I used to really like Craftsman (hand) tools, but they seem to have changed. Every time I get something replaced, they either don't have the exact same thing, or the quality doesn't seem the same. I only bought their hand tools. After a really lousy power drill a long time ago, I never bought a power tool from them again.
