Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) crank case overflow

I know this is probably a dumb question. But Ive been looking at the posts regarding relocating the blow by bottle, and then putting a sock over it so oil mist doesnt blow all over the radiator. I think Im going to do this. But, do you really need to relocate the bottle ? Couldnt you just leave the bottle where it is and put a sock over it ? Or does it get to hot in that location ?

If your not wading streams or fording rivers I would just extend the tube to the sway bar and secure it there sans the "Holy bottle". Has worked for me and I'm at 126k and counting. Nice to not have to steam clean the radiator anymore... . Mike
