The check engine light came on so I took her to the dealer and the said it was the crank position sensor code. What does this mean? The cleared the code. Is there something that should be addressed? Help!!!!!!

Mine went bad this winter. Idled real rough, check engine light, crazy tachometer. Went to Auto Zone to have the codes read. Bought the part a Cummins for about $60. It was an easy replacement just have to remove the starter. Cummins parts guy says he sells quite a few, there was even a core charge, he said they are testing to find why so many have failed.

Replace the crank sensor, before it leaves you stranded. They start acting up intermitantly at first but it will fail eventually.
