Well, I have towed for about 1000 miles on this trip so far. The crank sensor has worked well. I recorded the highest MPG I have ever recorded with this truck when pulling my 5ver. I recorded 9. 5 MPG on a 260 mile pull, cruise locked at 65 MPH, 90 degrees, and about 4000 foot elevation. For me that was remarkable. Tomorrow I leave for Texas, about a 300 mile pull. Out of curiousity I want to disconnect the EZ and just run with the crank sensor. More to come as the miles go by... ... ... :-laf

Sarge -- Was the install easy? Do you have to do anything other than swap the sensor? I went to their site and for the $$$ it's very tempting.

Does the truck sound different with the timing advance?

at idle no real noticeable difference. at low engine rpm loading [bogging down when starting with zero throttle or 3-4 gear 1000rpm or so accelarating] you can hear a little more fuel knock, but not an uncontrolled knock, just louder ignition similar to a 24v vp44 engine [not as loud though]

And has any one ran it with a TST as well?

tomeygun, why don't you be first to try it out? Usually most boxes add timing at higher RPM, but not at low, and engine knocking comes first at low to moderate power, not full power.

So, if you can't get at least one degree more advance without knocking, I 'll buy it back from you. I am concerned about your NV4500 though if it can handle the torque.
