I have an 04 Ram 3500. Ck engine light comes on and off, so i finally took it to the dealer. They told me it was the crank shaft position sensor fault code p0336. They also said it was do to my Banks six gun, and told me banks has a fix for it. I'm just wanting to know is it the banks? or simply do I just replace the sensor and be done with it?

Thanks, Jusramn.

I don't know that any of us can say definitively that it's the Banks but I can tell you my old TST definitively caused chronic problems with P0336 the whole time I used it. Finally tossed it and got a Smarty Jr. Haven't had a problem since.

If my '03 has to crank a little longer then usual, like winter and I forget to plug it in,I can count on tripping the code every time. I have a new sensor but haven't installed it yet.

I have also ran into this with mine. Its happened to me 3 times in the 2yrs I have owned the truck, and only in cold weather situations like retirednak said. (Unplugged in the cold) I have just cleared the code with the PDA in the past, but if somebody knows a fix please pass it on.
