2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission crank shaft sensor

Well I think I need a new one of these sensors. I want to check this part number 4882763. This sensor controls my tachometer right? My dodge dealer wants $160!! I thought it was a $60 sensor. Can yall help so I don't waste $160 since it is nonrefundable?

Mine was about $60 at the dealer, ohters have said to go to cummins, it's about $40, but that was also for a 2000 24 valve engine

If it is attached to the engine, always try cummins first. Amazing what looks like a dodge part is really from cummins. Parts are almost always at least HALF dodge prices. I've been burned a couple of times before getting smarter.
