Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Crankcase Breather Filter

During yearly P.M. can the breather filter be cleaned? If so how and what should be used? Thank you in advance. John

You can remove the assembly with a strap wrench. Rotate the housing counter-clockwise about a 1/4 to 1/2 turn for it to come off. I have had mine off before, but I don't recall whether or not I was able to remove the mesh and clean it.
