I put on a capture bottle much like the one Dodge or Cummins will give you when you complain about the vent tube; but with one simple yet important difference. I loosely packed the bottle with K&N filter wrap. It's some of the extra from when I had an exposed K&N in my 98. 5.

The filter wrap captures the vapors and accelerates the condensation; minimizing the smelly fumes.

I'd estimate the odor reduction at 85 percent.

I don't have any odor. But I think I will crawl under the truck and check this out. Any chance of a picture? Cheers,

Casey

So what you are saying that they have the crankcase vent set up like on my 00. You would think they could come out with something better. One 03 I drove it did not have any odor, probably not enough miles on it. The other I drove they got from some other dealer and it had 200+ on it and I noticed the smell. Guess I will have to do the mod like I did on the 00.

I'll get a picture tomorrow. I just got back from "Cruise to The Woods 2003"; to Fort Dodge Iowa. 800 Cars! Awesome! I was with my local Midwest Camaro Club; we caravaned seven Camaros. 160 miles each way. No break downs and no tickets equals a successful cruise! Did get over 115 but had to back out because I was afraid I might rear end someone coming over a hill crest.

One thing; not enough trucks! We'll have to get a slew of Turbo Diesels out for it next year. It draws cars from all over the Midwest; we converge on Fort Dodge, IA. Cars from MN, SD, IA, NE, IL, etc. Needs Dodge Turbo Diesels! Sharon can drive the Camaro and I'll drive the truck.

Anyways; off subject  I'll get a pic tomorrow!
