SO Have had the truck for about a month now and have noticed that when it is cold it starts right up. When the truck is warm it takes about 30 seconds of cranking sometimes a little longer to get the thing fired up. Have checked all the fuel connections and nothing seems to be leaking. Is this normal (not real familiar with the 6. 7 yet) or is there some other things that I need to look at. The truck runs great with no codes

My 08 seemed to have long cranks at times, had the dealer check it out , they made sure it had the latest flashes and said all is well. Make sure it is up to date on the flashes and drive it.

Mine takes several seconds to start once in awhile but if yours is really taking a full 30 seconds it might be an indication of something that is not right. Are you sure it is actually 30 seconds or does it just seem like a long time after owning a Gen II truck?

At work all day so i will pay attention on thursday when I am out and about. It will be better at timing it. Might be that I am used to my 2nd gen. thanks for the info will let you know how i make out

Yeah, 5 seconds of cranking is a long time!

I've noticed that my 6. 7 seems like it takes longer to start then my 5. 9 but I'm talking the difference between 1 second for the 5. 9 and sometimes 2. 5 seconds for the 6. 7. I would sure hope that you are exaggerating on the 30 second deal. I'm no mechanic, but dude, if it's taking you 30 seconds of cranking, there some problems with your purchase.

Well it was just my Imagination. It does take longer than my second gen but only 3-5 seconds at its longest. Guess I am just nervous I am gonna miss something. With my old truck I knew every creek and crack and knew what it meant. Now I am just trying to learn everything
