I've been experiencing a cold start issue the last few times I've tried starting my truck. When the temp is around 10 degrees or colder,my truck cranks but won't start. Plugged the block heater for a couple hrs, fires right off. Even if I cycle the key several times, still doesn't want to start. When it does start,I can hear the grid heaters cycling and also watch the amp gauge charge and discharge. Once running,it idles fine and has plenty of power. No unusual white or black smoke.

The truck has thrown P0336 code once gain after cranking on it. Will a faulty Crank sensor cause this cold start issue,or should I start looking else where? I'm still running the original lift pump and it seems like its a tad louder and runs a bit longer then it use to be. I haven't done a fuel pressue test and I was hoping I wouldn't have anything crop up till after I have my tran Guess I'm lucky at 104K miles and not had to replace it.

Thanks for your input,

Casey

If you don't mind spending a frustrating hour on your back with junk dropping in your eyes, you can swap the Crank and Cam sensors (same part) to verify it's the sensor . The cam is the hardest one to get to. . which kinda sucks because if this test verifies the sensor is bad, you have to wrestle it back out of the cam position.
Or you could just blow $50 and replace the dang thing. And the old sensor when left in your cup holder makes a nifty conversation piece!
