Archived crankshaft position sensor

after getting p0336 code and tach dying engine stutter, I am trying to replace the CPS. I got the part from cummins using the engine serial number. I have removed the old one and it looks very different from the new one. The old one is much longer and has a 90 degree bend for the electrical connection. The new one is straight. Should I just use the new one? Or did get I the wrong part even though they had the serial number.

Just a quick guess, You got a Cam Postition Sensor. The Crank Sensor that I had put in my 2000 Had the bend in it. Moose00

sensors do go bad. they should have a 90 in them. i had a nightmare with mine. when you pulled your old sensor out was there any damage to it?
