Attention: TDR Forum Junkies 
My old half worn out 98 Quad 2WD 5 Speed layed down the other night on I81 in northern Va. Acted like it ran out of fuel so I dumped 5 gal in & pumped till I turned blue and no crank(of course) Had to tow her in to a general repair garage. Went back to drag her 4 hours home and was told they got her to run!! I asked what was wrong and he said just changed fuel filter. (Fuel filter probably only had 500 miles since new) So I decided to try it 185USD including towing later. Drove south 30-40 miles running great and then it just cut off again same as before! Lucky I had helper with me and tow vehicle to get it home! Checked fuel shut off working,filter screen on fuel heater screen (clean) took to local diesel shop for lack of time to tinker and was informed today they changed fuel filter again and cranked her up!! I didnt tell em what just transpired last week. They said fuel pressure checked good drove it a few times and seems fine??? I only know the gauge dont work below half a tank indication so I use trip meter for fuel need. Is there a connection ??? He says they tested for air bubbles in system and found none!! Anybody got any idea what to check now???? He says injector pump possibly but does that sound right since it 's not constant?? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
