Spent the Saturday and Sunday pulling the toy hauler to OK. Somewhere along I-10, and continuing on I-20 I started seeing what I assume are auction vehicles being ferried. They were in all sorts of double-tow combinations. A car or small SUV flat towing a car flat towing another car. Sometimes the second car was on a dolly, and sometimes the third car was on a dolly. Darn sketchy looking stuff.

Normally we see such stuff headed to the Southern border!

Saw this yesterday. Sometimes, it takes one to tow one.....;)

At least the trailer’s level.....

I've seen tons of them with one flat towing another, but don't recall seeing doubles.
I have seen them.....in triples.

A small minivan, then flat towing an SUV, then a two wheel dolly connected to the flat towed SUV.

I see those eeediots all the time, more so on the I-40 corridor, Tom.

While I have to stop at weigh stations, run a tight ship, and abide by FMCSA rules, these guys are allowed to run down the road, unsafely, without any friction from LEO or CVE guys.

I was told once in Brownsville, TN by a TN CVE officer that theyre afraid theyll get a rap for profiling.

I told the guy it was BS.....that their ultimate duties, whether anyone was commercial or not, was to keep the roads safe. I told him the folks WERE NOT. I also asked them to not give me a speeding ticket whenever I was passing those jalopies going down the road....in an attempt to avoid mayhem.

Half of these guys have white knuckles.....I am confident.

I will add pics sometime.....if I still have them.....from my dashcam.

OK, terminology error on my part. That's what I am referring to, three vehicles, and in some cases flat-tow all the way, not even a dolly.

I guess that you could label that as triples counting the dolly. I've read the combo I pull, truck, 5er and boat referred to as triples. To that I respond, "if I'm just pulling the 5er is it doubles?". I once pulled my son in law's car, with the front on a two wheel dolly behind my 5er from Lubbock to Austin. The route put me through Abilene, a hot spot for DPS. If the dolly constitutes triples I was ignored.

You were ignored as you were not running a DOT bullseye on your vehicle.

I guess I really consider it triples as the power unit is also a piece of crap.....straight from the salvage auction, too, right along with the two turdz in tow.
