Creak in dash

When I come out of a driveway or go over a speed bump, there is a creaking sound from the driverside upper dash on my 2001. 5. Enybody else had this problem?

I have a creak in the dash also but only starts at higher speeds 75 to 80mph & higher . It is an annoying creak which is hard to trace whilst trying to drive . Ithink i,ll have to invest in one of those mechanics stethascopes to see if i can pinpoint the noise. It is definitely coming from the drivers side though. Mine is a 2001 truck. Ian

I was just up at Dave's to have my BULLDOG hood installed and he showed me where the spot welds are breaking in behind the front fenders. You notice rust around the welds if they are broke. A friend of his that does bodywork said that this is common and Dave said every truck that he has looked at were bad. I'm going to talk with my dealer about some warranty work

Mine does it too! Complained to dealer and they reported back as a "Could not duplicate". Just a side note, my '94, 97, and my 2000 trucks all have done this.

Thanks to illflem for the TSB. My current truck is a Y2K, but I will take the TSB to the dealer and see if I can convience them to perform the fix.
