Ive spent so much $ trying to fix this cruise... , anyway, the latest problem is the cruise control will activate, but after 5 or 10 miles, it drops me. Each activation lasts for a shorter time- finally, it wont activate at all. I have the FSM, so I did the turn ignition 3 times, and pulled a code 34, which the manual says corresponds to servo or throttle problem. Its Saturday, natch, and I'm leaving for UT and NV tomorrow.

Have any of you guys had this same problem? I dont have a vacuum gauge, but I pulled the line off the servo, and it is getting good vacuum. Is there anything concerning the throttle I can easily check? Any input is appreciated!

I had a problem recently with the crank shaft speed sensor that crapped out which kept the computer from activating the field winding to my alternator so my charging system didn't work and my cruise control didn't work either.

Anyway since I have been doing some trouble shooting in your department I can tell you that a code 34 develops due to a problem in the speed control switch circuit The servo gets its power from a relay in the brake switch circuit so when the voltage drops below 1. 0 Vdc or goes above 4. 7 Vdc the result is the solenoid for the speed control drops out and a code 34.

You may want to check the following:

1) The switch and connections to the switch on your brake pedal to see if it is disengaging the cruise control. (most likely)

2) Open or shorted wire to the solenoid circuit.

3) Open or shorted speed control power supply circuit.

4) Defective solenoid

5) Defective speed control switch

6) Lastly (but hope to god not) a Defective computer (least likely)

Let us know how it goes and what you did to fix it. Let me know if you need more info on any of the above and I'll try to help (or confuse you)!

Good luck!
