The cruise will set but stops working when I pull a hill or hook on to a trailer. So far I've spent over $2000. and nothing has changed. My mechanic replaced the on/off switch in the steering wheel. While the wheel was off, he showed me all the play in the clockspring so I had the clockspring and wiring replaced. The only code set through this whole thing was 2122, so I replaced the apps. Nothing changed. I read that the brake light switch could be the cause, so I had that replaced. Nothing changed. I don't know where else to look! My service manual says something about two vacuum lines going to a servo under the battery box. That hasn't been checked.

Vacuum pump is behind the passenger side battery, reservoir is under the cowling. A leak in a line or connection is entirely possible the source of the problem, replacing all the lines and connectors between the pump and the CC is a good idea.

thank-you. I sure hope replacing all that will fix the issue!

The vacuum pump is working as the CC works part of the time. It is building vacuum to a point or you would hear the buzzing on the passenger side all the time if the pump is bad. The rubber lines rot and rub on stuff, the plastice connectors crack you cannot see it until you start flexing them You fix one spot and another goes. Best to get aroll of new tubing and connectors to replace it all at once then see if it works.

We found the problem. It was the servo at the end of the vacuum line. I have an electric vacuum pump and that was also bad. the pump probably went out because of the bad servo. CC works full time now. Thank-you for your input.
