Cruise Control Help

I experienced a weird one today on the way home. I was cruising down I-25 w/cruise set @ 80mph, and some lady cuts me off. I tap the brakes to cancel the cruise and NOTHING, tap again and NOTHING, finally had to land on the brake pedal to get it to cancel. tried it a few more times as traffic allowed, and got the same thing. It takes alot of pressure applied to the brake pedal to cancel the C. C. Any ideas on what could be causing this??? TIA... Scott

I had the same thing happen on my 03. I took it to the dealer first two times they said nothing was wrong and on the third try they replaced the brake switch on the brake pedal. worked great then I traded it in and got a 04. 5. then a 05 3500. no problems with these newer trucks. It does scare the the mouse in heater though.
