Hi Guys,
Several weeks ago I ran my truck up to close to redline as I was running through the gears. I do this about once per month; the rest of the time I drive like a little ole lady. But, when I clutched, the throttle did not release. I tapped pedal a couple of times and it released. Scared the fool out of me. Glad I was out in the boonies. Anyhow, I notice now I have no cruise control. The problem is, I believe, in the cruise cable. I took cover off of throttle cable assembly and the cruise cable is laying off to the side. I put it back on and took her for a ride. No cruise. Took cover off again and cable is off again. I did this several more times before I finally accepted that it isn't going to stay on. I do not know if the stuck throttle had anything to do with the cruise cable being off, or maybe caused it. I just want to know if anyone has any suggestions on how to keep the cruise cable on the throttle lever assembly. Maybe it got stretched. I have read about this in the search results.
Any advice on how to fix would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
David in SC
