2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Cruise control problem

Hi,

Just yesterday I went to turn my cruise on at 70mph. I look down a little later and I am up to 80. I tried again several times at different speeds and it will not stay at the setpoint. I tried at 40 mph to see how far it would climb, it made it to 55 and then the throttle would go up, then down, then up, then down ect to keep at 55mph. It is acting like the controller is malfunctioning. Anyone out there have any ideas on what is wrong. I used it all the way from cali to wash and it worked fine, I even used it the same day just minutes before this all started happening. Now I have to drive clear back to cali without it.

Sounds like you better check/replace the speed sensor on top of the rear-end... ... Have you noticed any funny readings on the odmeter?? New sensor is pretty cheap compared to what any one else will charge you to check out the truck!! R, J. B.

Speedometer seems to be working fine as well as the odometer. I am open to all ideas though. I will look at the sensor. Thanks
