will your clutch peddle disingauge the cruise controll? on mine the brake pedal will but the clutch does not, is this right?

Unless you just found out another item Dodge cut out to save bucks on the newer rigs the clutch should disengage cruise. The same switch is used for the depress clutch to start safety, does that work?

yes that works but that switch is all the way to the floor, if you have the cruise on and step on the clutch, you just sent the cummins to the governor for a visit! not to mention the slip on the clutch because it was under load! anybody know?

If i remember right, my 94 does the same thing if I push in on the clutch, the engine runs away so I never use the clutch to shut it off.

Goddard,

I think you'll find you have a defective starter interlock switch. These switches are actually two switches combined. The interlock switch is made by depressing the clutch all the way in, the cruise/off part of the switch seems to be an inductive-type switch. It should see ANY movement of the clutch linkage and disable the cruise.

thanks mick, i will chech that out and see what i can come up with. this would be the first vehicle of any kind that i have ever seen that the clutch pedal does not disengauge the cruise! :(

The clutch pedal on my 97 disengages the cruise. Thre was one time that it didn't though. Got worried for a second. Hasn't done it since.
