cruise control stuck at 70

so i was driving down the road had the cruise set at 70 pulling an 8 horse trailer empty thank god but got closer town and had to slow to 45 pressed the brakes to turn off cruise didn't work pushed the off button didn't work so i turned the pickup off and it reset haven't tried it again since the incident anybody else have this problem

What year and model are we talking about? Manual or automatic?



I'd start by verifying the truck's brake lights are coming on when you press the brake pedal.

sorry first timer here i forgot the important stuff it is a 98, 2500, 4x4, 12 valve, and an automatic. the brake lights were not working i noticed a while after the incident that the fuse was blown the cruise wont turn on now thanks for taking the time to read the post
