Problem: Cruise control surges. It only varies a mile or two but you can feel it kick in and out constantly. I checked all the vacuum hoses, connections and the check valve.

I have been putting a lot more highway miles lately and the cruise control has finally WON:mad:

It was aggravating before the bigger tires and the EZ. But the 200 to 500 niles I am putting on a day NOW. The cruise control sucks.

I have searched previous posts and the only hint I see is reset the computer by disabling the batteries. HAS this worked for anyone???

If so,

Do ineed to set the EZ to 0 while the computer relearns itself?

If this did not work for you what did you do?

I have read in a couple posts awhile back that the fueling boxes will make the cruise control "Hunt" or surge. I noticed mine doing this while driving across nevada. the boost guage was surging about three pounds on flat ground?

Don't have any proof that this is true or faults, just what i have read:(

Fueling boxes cause it to overcompensate. The truck will apply more power than it thinks it is. The surge is a little diffrent deal that seems to be limited to trucks with automatic transmissions.

My '97 has an automatic and has always done that. I really didn't notice it until I installed the boost gauge. It did it stock, it did it with the tst fuel plate and it does it with the new fuel pump. I just stoped watching the boost gauge. Lucky for me I can't feel it while driving.

Wasn't there a recall on the '03's for the cruise control (speed control)? They keep trying to do mine but I keep refusing it.

but i thought that was b/c it did not disengage when you pressed the brake. according to my dealer i had no other recalls besides the trans line and ecm O'rings.
