For the last few weeks my cruise control has been a real pain! I would set the speed and then it would just 5 mph or more. . I could not figure it out... It was getting to the point I stopped using it.

Just before Thanksgiving I needed to changes the batteries. I took the old batteries out as cores and left everything unhooked for about 2 hours while I went to get the new ones.

The next day on the way to work... I set the cruise without thinking about the problem. I noticed that the cruise set and didnt jump in speed. The cruise has worked great since then. I dont know why or how but I guess unhooking the batteries cleared something out. If you hare having this problem... it would be worth giving this a try. .

I have seen this happen in cars and light pickups before. But not in a CC before. Mostly in engine electronic problems.

A lighting strike close can cause all sorts of problems to appear. Power down the vehicle and let it reload from ram and relearn the engine spec's and the problem would disappear. :D

Another trick is to cycle the off/on switch for the cruise control several times and try it each time, it always works on mine sooner or later.
