2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Cruise control troubles

My '99 4x4 automatic cruise control has stopped maintaining speed. When I turn it on and set it, it doesn't work. If I push accelerate it will speed up, but when I let go of the button the truck won't maintain. Before it failed the response of the speed control was sluggish, but it would control smoothly after it got to the setpoint.

the servo for cruise is under the left battery tray. q uite a few problems have occured there. check hoses for cracks. battery acid some times eats ahole in servo. there are tests in the manual to determine what the problem is. mine was a bad servo. hope this helps.

Thanks, I'll check it out in the morning. I do have the factory manual, but not the diagnostic manual. I kind of figure its the servo. Any idea what the cost for a new one is?

cost me 46. 00 cdn. plus taxes.

Just bought one and put it in. Problem fixed. $85 US, though. Did you get yours at a dealer or after market?
