anybody out there with 3k or 4k gov springs having problems with cruise? when I hit the cruise button to turn it on, the computer grabs it with authority, almost a surge. I figure it's because the fuel pump is more sensitive to throttle movement due to the heavier springs. But it also sometimes won't even come on (i. e. the little green light doesn't come on when I push the button to activate the cruise control). And then today, I turned it on and it took over very gently, like it did when the truck was stock. any ideas... . or should i just use my foot as cruise control!? my wife likes it though, so if its just a small part I can replace, I'd do it.

You might try to back off the springs just one click each, it will make the cruise control not quite so sinsitive... ... . I run cruise control on my truck also and it's fine but doesn't like long down hills, but I do have a locker and it has more slack in it that a stocker.

Replace servo (under battery)

If your cruise system is mostly original, especially your cruise servo (pulls the "throttle" cable), you should find a more friendly and consistent cruise after replacing it. Should cost $40 - 60.

Really made a difference with mine. The rubber in it gets stiff and it starts to overreact.
