power steering pump question

My truck is an early 2003 quad cab 4x4. It was built in early Nov. 2002. It is stock. I was driving on the interstate going up a mild incline at about 60 mph. The cruise control was working fine. The cruise died on the hill. I was unable to make it engage after that. I've read everything I can find about this subject. I've checked for vacuum leaks, non. The vacuum pump is working fine. I've changed the brake light switch. I cleaned all connections including the battery terminals. I then took it to the dealer. They state that their is power to the speed control servo. They checked the switches on the steering wheel and they state that they are all working properly. They had it for the better part of the day and could not come up with an answer other than to ask me to pick it up and bring it back if I want to. Their best answer was that it may be the ECM. They said they would have to do more checking. I would welcome any help?

I have the same problem, they replaced the servo and the problem is still there, they now say I need a new ECM to the tune of $1. 100!! One day it will work fine empty or towing then it kicks off and will not engage, light is on. Dealer has had it twice and I think they just replace parts if a fix does not work.
