A few days back my cruise control started taking about five seconds to pick up the throttle. Two days later it completely stopped responding. Has this happened to any of you diesel burners? If so, what corrective action did it require? This could save me some trouble shooting time.

First thing to check is the vaccum line where it connects to the cruise control servo underneath the driverside battery tray..... Battery acid usually eats it up ... . Life without cruise control really sucks. Good luck. ;)

Pumperdude is right. The servo for the cruise control is directly under the driver's side battery box. Battery acid drips down and eats a hole in the vacuum line or the servo itself. I made a "temporary" repair to my servo with JB Weld three years ago. It is still working today... :D

PumperDude & Iron Horse, you were correct in what could be causing my cruise control problem. The first thing checked was the line and it was defective. Replaced line and it is now working ok.

Thanks again guys for your help.

Mine did the same thing. I just cut out the bad part and joined it with a piece of rubber vacuume hose and presto back on the road again.
