Hey yall the other morning on my way to work my cruise control stopped working and the light is not on. I looked for a fuse but couldn't find one labled cruise control. What do you guys think it is. No other warning lights have come on at this time. I read somewhere that it might be the clock spring and there was a recall? 2001 quad cab

Safety Recall #982

Be aware that the early 2001 Rams use a Speed Control Servo (under front of driver-side battery) and later 2001 Rams use the ECM (no Servo) in the cruise control circuit.

The cruise control quit working on my 01 a while back. :( The light doesn't come on either. The horn still works. The truck's build date (April) doesn't match the recall parameters, so I searched this site for more info. I determined the ECM controls the cruise on my truck and I figure I'll have to take it to the dealer since I don't have a way of getting at the ECM myself. I don't know if there might be a trouble code there or not. I cycled the ignition 3 times and got 3 codes but unrelated to the cruise. I also checked for fuses, etc. I'm frustrated not being able to figure this one out, but I'm not comfortable tearing into the steering column/airbag on my own at this point. I'll be watching this thread.

this probably won't help but when the cruise stoped working on my last truck (1996 chev) it turned out to be the third brake light was burned out. sounds funny but true.
