Cruise Kit for '02 Manual CTD?

First let me say that I should've joined this site years ago!... Now, since there are a ton of knowledgable folks here, let me pick your brain...



IS there a way to add cruise control to my '02 Cummins Ram QC 4x4... short bed with a 5 speed. Dealer says "Nope", but I think they're just poorly motivated! (I couldn't get manual windows with cruise control... guess they don't build 'em that way. )

I'd be surprised if you can't add it on. My 2002 ST QC 4x4 (with manual windows) came with cruise control from the factory. It doesn't have the nice leather wrapped steering wheel either that the SLTs have so I don't think the fact you got a "Ranch" truck should matter. My $. 02. BD

Nowadays, you can get cruise on an ST truck only if it was ordered that way from the factory.

Starting with the 2001. 5's, the cruise control no longer uses the vacuum servo and cable like the early 2001 and older trucks did. The cruise control is now all incorprated into the ECM. All electronic now.
