cruise reflash

I bought my '03 in May, long after the cruise reflash recall, but of course the dealer had not done it. I have still not received a recall notice, although I have confirmed it applies to my truck from the Dodge website. Having read all the posts about "collateral damage" from this reflash, I am reluctant to have it done. What is eactly are the symptoms of the problem? How do I resolve the problem if it occurs? Can I just hit the brake to disengage cruise, or do I have to turn it off. I have not experienced a problem in the first 2,000 miles, quite a bit of which was using the cruise control.

The vast majority of us had it done without any problems or noticeable changes to the operation of the truck. Because it's a safety thing and you never know who may be driving it someday, I'd have it done.
