Just had trans rebuilt 157k miles by aamco. Cruize would come on and shortly thereafter drop off before the rebuild and still does. I picked up the truck at closing Friday and am taking it back tomorrow or Tuesday. It almost seems that cruize will stay on until the computer calls for a little power, then it drops off. Will not come one again until truck is shut down and ignition turned off to reset things. It it anyone's opinion that this is trans related or a different issue?
 
The trans isn't electrically connected in any way to the cruise so I don't think it's the source of your problem. I've heard of brake pedal adjustments being a bit off and the brake lamp coming on sometimes - which would cause the CC to drop out.

Hopefully someone else will have another idea.

Vibration rub out wore a hole in my vacuum line near the fuel filter area. Spliced a copper capillary tube in there to fix it. The electric pump seems a little loud, it actually shuts off now after it builds vacuum.
 
I have the same condition as the original poster. Cruise will hold speed on level ground up to 65mph, however, if I try to accelerate or go 70mph, or there is a hill or headwind it will kick off and not reset until I shut the truck off and restart. I've replaced the vacuum harness and servo actuator thinking there might be a pinhole leak. That didn't help. Only thing left is the pump or vacuum canister/reservoir. No codes shown, brake light switch seems to be operating normally. I'm at a loss . let me know what you find out. Last I checked the pump is $270 at the dealer.
