Went snowmobiling Sunday. Raining - bummer! Got home to find out the gravel on the road had taken the paint off the front bottom corner of the bed on the passengers side. Looking at the bed, it had been installed about 3/4" out on the passenger side of the truck, so drivers side was not as bad. Yeah, and I have a fifth wheel hitch installed. Loosen everything up and got it lined up better. Talked to Linex in Lynnwood about shooting the lower corners of the bed. Yuck $100. Had a can of spray bed coating, so I did it myself.

The gravel was coming from the front tires up through the Smittybuilt Nerfs and hitting the front corner of the bed. I went to Glenn's Welding and got two pieces of 8" by 50" diamond plate and shaped them to the bottom of the Nerfs, and pop riveted them on with a bed of silicone sealer and SS rivets.

Went snowmobiling on Saturday and forgot my helmet - bummer! Now I have a "spare. " Didn't have a rain problem that day though. Went up again wednesday night and found 18" of new snow, but hit an ice chunk or rock or something on the way home and knocked a wheel off the trailer - bummer again! Anyways, I don't know why there was so much sand on I-90 last weekend but my 2500 has the same problem in the same places. Over a year it sandblasted all the way to the primer. A set of running boards cured the problem for me. They basically do the same as your diamond plate. With Driftwood paint and the usual dust on the side of my truck you don't see it too much anyways. It adds character!

Your diamond plated Smitty's look nice though. Definitely custom.

Line-X'd Rocker Pannels

This is probably the Best BOMB I have had done to my truck. I had it done at ABC Driveline in Vancouver... cost me $450... . more than worth it

Diesel Freak.

How is that going to effect your dyno run????

Does the extra weight help hold you down on the dyno?

Just kidding!

Deisel Freak:

I called ABC a while ago and they have raised their price to $600. $600 is still BY FAR, cheaper than any other place that I have have found in WA state. Most places want $900-$1200!

So the $250 Lynnwood Linex wanted to shoot the rocker panels was not the bad!!!!! As he said, it was not the amount of materal, it was the labor for taping. SNOKING

I agree with the statement that it is the prep and tapeing that is the expensive part. I did my rocker panels while I still had the equipment. It was worth it on my truck, but I wouldn't want to do it aqain!!!!!!!!!

well, I would say that it is good for at least 15 HP. I try to keep my Exhaust tip polished, and that is good for at least 20 HP

wow that puts me at 329 HP... . wow, I wonder how much I would get if I chromed and polished my valve cover and compressor housing..... I may break 350 if I did that:p :p :D
