I'm going to switch out my shifter knob on my truck and was wondering if the threads for the shifter knob are standard threads or Metric threads (and what size if you know, but its not critical since its a universal kit)..... I want to make sure I order the proper knob to fit the handle... .

Also do the factory shifter knobs just screw off like all manual trans knobs?

thanks,

Shifter Knob

I can't help you on the thread size but I can tell you that No they don't just un-srew. You need to pop out the shift pattern thing-a-ma-bob on the top of the shifter (a small screw driver worked for me) and then you will see the nut that holds the knob on.

I think the thread size is M1. 25x10, but I'm not positive. I do know however that it is metric. A good Dodge parts guy can look up the size in his computer.

thanks for the info, I'm actually looking into getting a Hammer Head shifter knob (type hammer head into the search and it will come up).

I saw one on one of the guys trucks last weekend at our Austin get togethere and it fits the hand real nic and feels good... . I haven't completely made up my mind yet, but we'll see
