Cummaparts!

That's what our rental delivery truck driver calls them. I rented a Skytrak rough terrain fork lift for putting in a sculpture today.



As I walk out to his idling (year 2000) Kenworth, I look under the truck and hear the beast singing away. I don't see any yellow paint so as soon as they guy walks up, I say, "Cummins?" He says, "You mean a Cummapart?"



I say, "Hey, I drive a Dodge with a Cummins, what do you drive?"



"Duramax", he says.



He said he had a 96 KW with a Cat and it had more balls. He also said his dad has a 94 Dodge Cummins with 4" exhaust and a plate. Said it can't keep up with his 02 Duramax with the same size 5th wheels. Duh!



Then I got to thinking and I was going to say this to him but thought I would be nice. I have a Cummins 24V in my Dodge, he has an N14 in his KW, I wonder what the forklift has?



Pop the doors and what do you know! 4BT (C3. 9) Cummins! Thats gotta tell you something! 100% of all (3 total) the diesel engined powered trucks, material lifts, delivery trucks, etc, on the museums ENTIRE property were Cummins equipped!

Nick you and I both saw Duramaxes getting it handed to them by Cummins powered vehicles at Bandimere.

1. We all know our motors are built better.

2. Hope he never has to work on it.

3. Initial cost is way more than our Dodges.

4. They say they have a better auto trans than us but the last guy I saw making 600 heavily drugged horsepower in a Duramax just spent seven grand on his transmission to hold up and made a poor showing at the track.

5. How about the front end mods to keep from snapping the front suspension?

6. I wonder what that '94 Dodge will do to a '94 Chevy? Pretty sad when you have to compare an 8 year difference in trucks to make yours sound better



Anybody else want to add to the list of why a Cummins is better?

Have to agree with him on the cat in a big truck they will eat cummins for breakfast lunch and supper far as pullin, but in a pickup there is no other diesel I would have but a 5. 9 cummins.

I wasn't going to argue about the Cat thing either. I said he would not be wanting to buy the parts for a Cat, then he said he wouldn't have to, they wouldn't break down. I don't know big truck engines, so I left it at that!

With Cat and John Deere it is just the paint is what costs so much. ha ha
