I think our furry friend that installs oil filters at Cummings has been moonlighting. Was pulling the 60K maint on my Camry and had to use a 2 foot long breaker bar to remove the drain plugs on the auto trans and differential. Guess time are tough even for our bananna eating buddies... Oh well at least they didn't fall out on the freeway!!

"Is Cummings a division Of "Cummins" by any chance??"

Actually, that "gorilla" was a former GM employee over in their "Camero" plant - and worked for "Frod" before that...

I usually avoid "spelling wars" - but lt IS sorta amazing how some sit behind the wheel, looking at the words "Cummins Diesel" day after day and STILL can't spell it right... Ranks right up there with the bit about Ford owning Cummins...

 ;)

We ALL make spelling errors from time to time - some are just more "dedicated" than others... ;) :D

And yeah, that same gorilla musta installed the oil filter on my '02 Dodge - took a foot long pipe added to my filter wrench, and ALL my strength to get it loose...

My drain plug was boogered up from somebody trying to undo it before me. I then promptly twisted the end of a cheap 3/8 extension in it. It came off after a struggle.

One of the signs of good mechanicsmanship is knowing how tight is tight enough.

I read someone say that they put a filter ON with a wrench. I never have seen that recommended or done it or had a filter back off.
