front suspension problems

Problem with a Ford.

Same with me. I've seen two GMC Topkicks (One white, other Black) with the rear bed added - running around here.

One guy uses it to tow boats. (more like yachts  )

I guess you can now get the best of both worlds.

A true Crew cab and a CUMMINS ;) Oo.

I think I have pretty much made up my mind NOT to buy a 2003 Dodge. Instead, I am looking for a 650 Ford or a FL50/60 Freightliner with a B Cummins. I am growing tired of being concerned about componets. Looking also for a little diesel MBZ. to use for a daily driver and keep my diesel truck for road trips.

EXPEN$IVE...

Base on a crewcab is high $40's, and that's before the right motor/drivetrain, aluminum wheels, etc, then you have to get the bed kit.

As far as I know, all the 650's are 2wd, but I've seen some in 4wd that are must have been aftermarket conversions.

Ps. You can play with configurations yourself at http://www.commtruck.ford.com/ctw/default.asp

My thinking is to find a deal on a "Low Pro" F650 C&C and then put a dually bed on it. I think it would look like a pickup on steriods... ... ... ... ... .

I like how the rear axle isn't in line with the bed.....

And how close the tires are to the fenders.....

Observations... . with a little criticism.

take a look in a 4x4 mag and see any ford SD with more than 4" of lift. the front axle looks way too far forward. . like 2-3" off center of fender wheel well

I definately like that. It does look like the wheel wells on the beds need a little repositioning and enlarging.

I think that would be a good next up from the 2500:D :D Oo.

It does soound a little pricey though

Here is the puzzler: When I started having this wild idea, I called my rep. at the Black Book and asked him to comp. me a copy of the medium duty book. When it arrived, I was shocked what the book says a 2 to 3 year old medium duty is worth. Soooooo, my thinking was or is to find a 2 to 3 year old "Puff" in the $20K range and then fit it to my needs. I may not find it, but it will be fun looking! Also, I made up my mind to buy a 2002 dually today and sell my 2001/2500 ETH/DEE.

I love the F650, but I heard the cummins also comes with F450, mayb a little cheaper than the hi 40's plus. I'd rather have the cummins than the cat.

Gitch...

I saw a $150K figure for that truck in an FMX Rag. Totally sano rig!

The ISB's are available in the 650's, not the 450's or 550's where your choices are v10 phord gass'r or Cacklestroke.

Sure would be hard to pass on the CAT.

Let's put it this way, if I picked up a Class 8 tomorrow, say a T800W or a 379EXHD, it would be packing C16, not a Sig or an ISX.
