Rare '74 Dodge Big Truck

I ALWAYS enjoy the first fire off on a fresh rebuild, Penny thought the thing was on fire because of so much smoke :-laf Maybe I used to much Marvel Mystery Oil on top of the pistons & rebuilt pump & injectors. :-laf:-laf:-laf:-laf:-laf

Was wondering if the Local Fire Dept was going to show up :D

Same as when I helped my uncle 'freshen' the motor in his Case DC. The smoke that thing poured out for five minutes! I didn't think I went overboard with the assembly oil, but clearly I was more than generous with it. :)

Theres a chance that I can obtain a video. Both of the guys that came to the house are employed by Caterpillar in Lafayette IN, one is a longtime friend who worked on my truck motors when I was an O/O Many years ago. The other was a tech that works on the generators that are attached to the motors at Cat. Everything checked out fine on the Genset and was rewired to provide enough 220V for Lots of homes He took a video from his phone.

The motor ran for 2 hours 1800 RPM we let it stand overnight to cool then ran the overhead changed the oil/filters & fuel filters ran it today for 6 hours.

If your ever in the area you should take the Cat Factory tour they make some REALLY IMPRESSIVE SIZED MOTORS. :D
