I am thinking about doing a custom build with a 1979 ford body and putting a 24v cummins with an allison in it. it is 2 wheel drive so no transfer case problems. i am going to build a custom boxed frame and a lot of other custom work. has anyone here hooked up an allison to a cummins in something simular?

In talking to Patrick Fields over at Western Truck in Henderson, Colorado, I asked him the same thing. He said that they at Allison tried to get Dodge and Cummins to go to Allison but it didnt happen so they (Allison went to GM instead). I dont think at this time there is anything available for a conversion. However you might call "THE MAN" Patrick at Western Truck. He knows more about Allison Trans than anyone alive. And if anyone uses Allison, he has a clean room and builds them there. 1-303-289-3318. email -- email address removed --. Hope this helps, Moe

I put an Allison 2000 in my 99 Dodge using DESTROKED: Cummins Conversions as the adaptor and all the wiring. You will need a lap top and internet connection to get it all done. It is not cheap but it is good. If you need to change shift points on the trany there is software out there to use. I have made a lot of changes which is easy once you learn the software.

I pull a fifth wheel and a jeep with no problems.

Yes it can be done!
